Bahco Ergo Screwdriver: Using Both Hands
 

In 1978, Bahco and Ergonomidesign discovered that craftsmen at work commonly use both hands to tighten a screw. User tests showed that efficiency would be improved by 70 percent if the screwdriver handle enabled a two-hand grip.

 

The first so-called Ergo screwdriver was launched in 1982 and was followed by other hand-held tools such as chisels, pliers, knives, saws, paint scrapers and adjustable spanners. More than 1.5 million Ergo screwdrivers were sold in 2004.  Read more >

3M Speedglas: Making Welders Feel Cool

Ergonomidesign has designed auto-darkening protective welding gear for Speedglas since the mid 1990s. The original Speedglas 9000, inspired by medieval knights, was launched in 1996 and gained instant recognition all over the world. The latest incarnation, Speedglas 9100, has evolved to be even more emotionally pleasing. Speedglas has received numerous design awards, most recently the prestigious Red Dot “Best of the Best”, and has even been commemorated on a national postage stamp in Sweden.

Ikonoskop A-Cam: Downsizing Film Cameras
 

In 2002, the Swedish filmmakers Göran Olsson and Daniel Jonsäter decided to develop their own Super 16 film camera on a shoestring budget with the help of CAD/CAM technology, rapid prototyping and a multidisciplinary project team.

Ejendals asked Ergonomidesign to review the entire product line for protective gloves for professional users. This market segment is under severe price pressure and existing products are typically undifferentiated.

 

Ergonomidesign created three distinct product groups to create greater differentiation and highlight key product benefits. Since the relaunch of the Tegera brand in 2005, Ejendals has sold over 500.000 pairs of gloves.
