Meet our Sports Team

Our sports design team, consisting of keen cyclists, runners, scuba divers, powder skiers, golfers and active outdoor people, use and live with the products that we’ve designed as well as other competitive products every day. We even do our own prototype testing in places like the slopes next door to our Swiss office, above the Arctic Circle in the North of Sweden, and in the forest trails near our headquarters on the outskirts of Stockholm. In our house we host world class skills in industrial design, interaction design, engineering, human factors, colours, materials and trend forecasting, sustainable design and inclusive design. In our efforts to always create ground-breaking products, we work together with leading insitutes and research centres, such as The Swedish School of Sports and Health Sciences laboratory for applied sport science, The Swedish Society of Sports Medicine, Sport University Cologne etc.

Performance Enhancing Design (PED)

We have to admit it – we are a bunch of sport and outdoor nerds. But when combining our own personal interests with our professional skills in ergonomics and design, we have the opportunity to devlop outstanding gear that we really would want to use ourselves. And that's something that really inspires us in our every-day work.

Ergonomidesign has a 40-year history of breakthrough innovations for the sports industry, all the way from the first recumbent bike we developed in the 1970s, to the pioneering bike handles for professional mountain bikers (which took the market by storm, and the innovation trickled down to the mass-market segment), to life vests for sailing that are as comfortable, stylish and lightweight as a normal sports vest. We work with products for all types of outdoor and indoor sports, in a wide range of materials, fabrics and composites.

Our breakthrough innovations are often generated in our research work with “super-users” as well as with regular test groups from the actual target group. It could be the smallest insight that sparks our ideas, generating truly innovative sports design. All designs and prototypes are thoroughly tested for durability, performance, enhancement and total experience before moving on to the final design phase.

For many of our sport clients, we have also been developing packaging materials, website guidelines and point-of-sale displays in order to make the products and innovations stand out in the crowded marketplace.
