*Create an Outstanding Future for People

Human Futures extends our Ergonomics³ expertise by merging insight derived from today with knowledge gathered and analysed about tomorrow.

Human Futures engages business between pure data prediction and strategic decision making, acting as the inspiration for what ‘could be possible’ for tomorrow. We utilise our visualisation and prototyping expertise to help companies to envision real and tangible possibilities for their future strategy.

To differentiate our clients brand and add extra relevance, we’ve also added one more important ingredient – the human consequence of what we do – rather than concentrating only on the technological or business aspects of the future. Our experience shows that a true understanding of people is a critical factor for future success.

Together with our clients, we explore the future, typically in three specific target areas that relate directly to the company’s strategic product and service development process. These are: Colour Materials Finishes – Forecast, Trend Infusion, and Futuring.

Colour Materials Finishes - Forecast

How do the latest finishes and technologies enhance the handling of your product? Which colours are cognitively appropriate for your future customers? Which materials offer the best emotional connections for your brand experience touchpoints?

We scan and synthesise product, service and cultural trend horizons, and develop tailored forecasts for products and portfolios. Using our unique perspective, expertise and global experience, we offer colour and materials forecasts that effectively show how products can become more competitive and product experience can be enhanced. These projects have a high impact in terms of increasing sales and building brands considering the relatively low investment.

Examples of deliveries are: Colour and Material Research, Tactile Desirability Research, Strategic Colour Advice, Colour and Material Production Recommendations, and Colour Perception Insight.

Trend Infusion - Identifiers of Change

We have a special interest in trends that have an ethical, social, or sustainable impact on our lives. By combining the experience of our global clients from many industries and disciplines, we are constantly finding new ways to enhance people’s lives and experiences. These ‘empathic identifiers’ give a unique insight into the present and future aspirations of your target user. Our clients benefit from these as part of our trend infusion service, which focuses on our core expertise areas: Technology & Interaction, Medical, Baby/Child and Elderly, Sport, Scandinavia, and Ethical & Sustainable.

Examples of deliveries are: Reports/Workshops/Talks that are intended to be part of innovation, design or strategic processes. These can be scaled to become longer term trend and research projects.

Futuring - Drivers of Change

Want to make the world a better place – but, as a business, unsure how?

Our Futuring service helps companies to build on their ethical and moral standpoint to create new business opportunities that have the purpose of enhancing people’s lives. By utilising Mega trends information and our emotional, cognitive and physical insight into the human being, our aim is to add tangible, visible and physical inspiration to your innovation work.

Depending on the scale of the assignment, we would gather mid-term to long-term social, cultural, technological and ecological data (economic and political can be added) to provide input into initial analytical sessions on which to base creative work.

Examples of deliveries are: Visual Futuring Maps & Timelines, Scenarios/Visualised Scenarios, Visualised Concepts, and Prototypes.
